

A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The Reverend Hunter Stevenson will officiate. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
Bobby was born in Reynolds, Georgia, to the late Clyde Amos and Alma Tiny Amerson Freeman. He built a long and successful career in the automotive industry, having been employed by Butler Chevrolet, Youmans Chevrolet, and formerly Lamar Pontiac.
His commitment to his community was evident through his lifelong affiliations. He was a longtime member of North Macon Presbyterian Church, a Shriner for sixty-one years, a Mason for sixty-eight years, and a member of the Royal Order of Jesters.
Above all, Bobby was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-nine years, Barbara Ann Jones Freeman of Macon, and his children: Bobby (Shirley) Freeman of Macon, Valerie Lisa Freeman of Macon, and Leigh (Mike) Hartley of Macon. He also leaves behind six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, as well as his sister, Wilma C. Thurlow of North Carolina, and several nieces and nephews.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings.
