Carolyn Virginia McKinney, 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Friday, December 9, 2022. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Kenny Hamm officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Victory Baptist Church, 5687 Houston Road, Macon GA 31216.
Carolyn was born to the late Mary and Benjamin DeBerry. She was a wonderful Christian and longtime member of Victory Baptist Church of Macon. She loved the Lord Jesus and would often say “He’s so great and I’m so small, I know so little but He knows it all.”
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and she enjoyed nothing more than quality time spent with her family.
Carolyn is survived by her devoted husband of forty-five years, Leonard Donald McKinney, Sr., two daughters, Sandra C. Darden (Dan) and Phyllis J. Bennett (Danny Carr), three step-children, Janet Kelley, Angie Ponder, and Leonard D. McKinney, Jr., one grandchild, Courtney Salter-Dews, one step grandchild, Tyler McKinney, two great grandchildren, Skylar Dews and Aubree Dews, and one step grandchild, Brantly McKinney.
