

Believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, mentor, serviceman, friend; these words and more embrace the life of Chester Vaughn. Always one to find the good in people and a thoughtful and compassionate encourager, he departed this life on December 24, 2017. He made those in his presence feel comfortable, important and loved. He was born to the late Roscoe and Gertrude Vaughn on November 10, 1924 in Brockway, New York.
Chester received a BS degree in Accounting from Howard University in Washington, D.C., and a Master of Business Administration degree from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He worked as a Revenue Agent with the Internal Revenue Service for more than 30 years. Upon retirement, Chester relocated to Ocala, FL in 1988 and came to Macon, GA in 2013. In 2015, Chester relocated to the Atlanta metropolitan area.
He was preceded in death by his devoted and cherished wife of 63 years, Marilyn. He is survived by his loving and caring children Valerie, Dwayne (Stephanie), Steven (Sharon), and Craig; his precious grandchildren, Kimberly, Christina (Kristopher) Chesterman, Matthew, Alisha, Erinn, Daniel, Taryn, Brian, Joshua and Bethany; great grandchildren Terrence, Denise, Jamie, Analyn and Aralei; his brother-in-law Lawrence Stroud; sisters-in-law Elise Whyte, Gwendolyn Booker, Vernetha Bryant, Mary and Anne Stroud; nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the North Macon Presbyterian Church, 5707 Rivoli Drive, Macon, GA 31210. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at North Macon Presbyterian Church, 5707 Rivoli Drive, Macon, GA 31210, on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Interment service at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, GA will follow at 1:00 p.m.
