Christine Nelms Hartley

On September 25, 2025, Christine Nelms Hartley passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. A Celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at noon in the chapel of Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Georgia Veterans Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was known for her famous Carrot Cake, a family favorite. She put her skills as a data entry operator to work for Associated Foods, Bibb Company, Noland Company and Steve Stone Plumbing until she retired.

Christine was a graduate of A.L. Miller High School class of 1958. As a member of Cross Keys Baptist Church, she especially enjoyed caring for the babies in the church nursery on Sundays. She also delighted in being a Girl Scout Leader for many years. She treasured her collection of Dick and Jane and Laura Ingalls Wilder books. She tried to instill those values in her children.

Christine is preceded in death by her husband Quinton L Hartley.

Christine is survived by her daughters, Connie Hartley, Karen Bond (Trey), Teresa Dixon, and her son, David Hartley. She has several grandchildren, Megan Bond (Kirk), Jonathon Bond (Alisha), Joshua Fountain, Brandon Hartley, Preston Hartley (MaKenna), Alexis Brown (Dustin), BobbieJo Collins (LauraLeigh), Shianne Sommers, Nichalos McCain, Alyssa Story (Michael) Hunter Bond, Austin Hartley, and twins Kara and Gabrielle Dixon. She really loved her great grandchildren, Tyson Smoak, Wyatt and Amelia Bond, Brooklyn Story. Jackson Story, Chandler King Jr., Kolton King, Leilani Somers, and Ansleigh Brown. She also leaves behind three sisters-in-law, Patricia Jones, Joan Nelms, and Betty Nelms.

Christine often called on Bobby Dixon for help with repairs in her home which she appreciated so much.

Christine leaves a legacy of Love, Devotion, and Faith.
