

Clement James Busbee, 92 passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. Funeral Services will be held in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend David Odell officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Busbee was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Nessel Monroe Busbee and Callie Stokes Busbee. He proudly served in the 8th Air Force of the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII as a Tail Gunner on B-17 bombers, flying missions out of Colchester, England.
Returning home to Macon, he graduated from Georgia – Alabama Business College and worked for Robins Air Force Base in support of the C-141, retiring after 32 years. He then enjoyed a second career as a security guard at Lake Wildwood where he worked for another 28 years.
He loved baseball, particularly the Atlanta Braves, and coached the South Macon Pony League Tigers for 10 years. He was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and was also involved with Porterfield Baptist Church, having been one of the founding members there. He was a 32nd degree Mason and was a member of Rutland Lodge for more than 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 58 years, Marguerite Gentry Busbee; his brothers, Horace Busbee, Roger Busbee, Dwight Busbee, and Kenneth Busbee; and sister, Mirian Ray.
He is survived by his children, Keith (Julie) Busbee and Chery (Jamie) Lee; sister, Eleanor Lockhart; grandchildren, Breezy Lee and Colby Lee, all of Macon; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Goodwill Nursing Home, Blair House Senior Living (Antebellum of Arlington) and Serenity Care Hospice for their excellent care.
