Denton S. Payton, 75, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014 surrounded by his family. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Northside Christian Church with Pastor Rich DeWees officiating. Burial will be on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Leitchfield, KY. Visitation will be held on Saturday, from noon to service time at the church.
Mr. Payton was born in Rockport, Indiana to the late Dewey and Bernice Payton. He served in the United States Navy and was retired from Honeywell and Riverwood International as a Process Control Technician. Denton was a member of Northside Christian Church and was a former elder. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Jean Smith Payton of Macon, three sons, Kraig Payton of Macon, Kevin (Renee) Payton of Macon, Kelly Payton of Marietta, grandchildren, Tracey (Anthony) Burns, Kristen (Kyle) Rosenberg, Isaac Payton and Jacob Payton, two great grandchildren, Cuinn Burns and Evan Rosenberg.
