Donald Nelson Heaton, 81, passed away, Thursday, January 9, 2025. The family will greet friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Forest Hills Church. A celebration of his life will follow at 2:00pm, in the church sanctuary with Rev. Jeremy Wilson officiating. Interment will be at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville at a later date.
Mr. Heaton was born June 26, 1943, in Anderson, South Carolina to the late Roy Nelson Heaton and Bessie Higginbotham Heaton. He honorably served his country with the United States Army during Vietnam and was the owner and operator of R’Nestco Hydraulics in Macon. Mr. Heaton was a member of Forest Hills Church and was a man of many talents. He was an avid golfer, motorcycle enthusiast and dabbled in photography. He was also an impressive cook, enjoying creating meals for his friends, family and church family.
Mr. Heaton is survived by his wife of forty-three years: Robin Heaton; children: Debbi Armstrong (Rankin), Brandon Heaton, Andrew Heaton and Benjamin Heaton; sister: Anne Heaton; niece: Sissy Taylor; nephew: Vic Anderson and a great-nephew: Kenny Taylor.
