Doris Whitaker Cantrell, 95, passed away Monday, December 28, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday in Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Duggan will officiate. The family will greet friends from 5 until 7 Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon 31201. Masks and social distancing are required to be in attendance at the service. The family would like to express their gratitude to the employees of Fountain Blue Rehabilitation and Nursing Home for the great care given to Mrs. Cantrell.
Mrs. Cantrell was born in Wilkinson County, Georgia the daughter of the late Minnie Bell Carter Whitaker and James Fountain Whitaker. She was a caregiver and a homemaker. Mrs. Cantrell was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert C. Cantrell and her son, Richard "Ricky" Cantrell.
Mrs. Cantrell is survived by her children, Rod Cantrell (Linda), Angie Henry (Arthur), and Kurt Cantrell; grandchildren, Amy Johnson (Eric), Matthew Cantrell, Emilia Cantrell, and Jamie Lynn Harris; great-grandchildren, Layne Johnson, Hunter Johnson, and Rhett Johnson.
