Doris Hatcher Kitchens, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, March 27, 2018. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Hardee officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends Friday night from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Porterfield Baptist Church, Maintenance Fund, 2910 Allen Road, Macon, 31216.
Doris was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Ross L. Hatcher II and Mae Mountcastle Hatcher. She was retired from Bellsouth and was a member of Porterfield Baptist Church. Doris was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Edward Kitchens; children, Sharon Lynn Miller, Ginger Berta (John), Susan James (Carey) and Ron Kitchens (Joanie); six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and brothers, Ross L. Hatcher III, Steve Hatcher and Mike Hatcher.
