

E. J. Griner, 92, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2016 at his residence. A Celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Corbitt officiating. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Georgia Masonic Children’s Home, 1417 Nottingham Drive or any Animal Shelter of your choice.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Griner was preceded in death by his brothers, Wallace, Emory Hugh, and Arnold (Jr.) Griner. He attended Berrien County School System and was a veteran serving in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Griner was retired from the Insurance Industry after thirty-six years of service. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Mason’s, and past President and instructor with the Life Underwriters Association of Macon.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 70 years, wife, Melba Metts Griner of Macon; son, Billy (Linda) Griner of Milledgeville; two daughters, Karen Griner of Atlanta and Rhonda Eldridge of Macon; six grandchildren, Bryan (Cindy) Griner, Stacy Griner, Amie (Kenneth) Hargis, Tracey Evans, Blake Davis, and Ridge Eldridge; twelve great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Jean Johnson of St. Louis, MO; brother, Earl P. Griner of Atlanta, GA; and a very special friend, Stephen Bashinski of Macon.
