Elmira H. Eppinger

Elmira H. “Mother Dear” Eppinger, 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 surrounded by her family. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Elder Richard Austin officiating. The family may be contacted from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the residence of Moses Gene Lavender, 589 Adamson St., Macon GA 31204. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Childs Chapel Primitive Baptist, 562 May St., Macon GA 31204.

Mrs. Eppinger was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Moses and Estella L. Howard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Eppinger. Mrs. Eppinger was a member of Childs Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.

She is survived by her children, Barbara (Hebert) Hightower, Shirley A. Glover, Bonnie (Shelia) Lavender and Moses Gene (Dianne) Lavender all of Macon, ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and two sisters, Edna (Clarence) Hampton and Florese (Isom) Frazier all of Macon.
