Evelyn Julia Dowd, 89, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Dziadul officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago IL 60601.
Evelyn was born in Turner County, GA to the late Ernest and Sara Ella Henderson Kelley. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John William Nutt and D.D. Dowd, her son, John William Nutt and four brothers. Evelyn retired as a secretary for Dr. Raymond A. Moody after thirty years of service. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed volunteering with the Pink Ladies and Voting Polls for many years. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Sue (Jim) Lowell of Box Springs, eight grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
