Gary was born in Detroit, MI, his parents moved back to Georgia when Gary was a very young child. He truly was a southerner to the core. He grew up in Warner Robins, GA and after graduation he moved to Atlanta where he eventually was employed by a bank, he continued that pursuit until he went to work at Mack Trucks, he found his niche, he loved talking to people so he was a natural salesman. He retired from Mack in 2002.
He met his to be wife in Atlanta, they shared nearly 58 years of marriage together. He is survived by his wife, Fran Albert. They moved in later life to Walton County, their home was on Lake Walton. He was an avid fisherman, hardly a day went by he did not fish.
He also collected old books, toys, piggy banks and a plethora of other things, he took great pleasure finding special collectibles.
Gary was a gregarious man, he communicated well with people, he had long time friends he was loyal to, he loved people. He was a Christian who lived for the Lord, he gave his time to help others who strayed to come back to Christ. He was always giving, he helped so many people along his journey on Earth, he is home now, Gary was a good and faithful servant. He touched many people’s lives, he will be missed.
Psalm 73:26 “My flesh and my heart faileth but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever.”
He is survived by one sister, Carol Tackett of Snellville. Nieces and nephews as well who were all dear to his heart. Many friends and brothers and sisters in Christ.
