George C. Hunnicutt

George C. Hunnicutt, 89, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018. A Celebration of His Life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday in Mulberry Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Jimmy Towson officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM in the parlor. Burial will be private and the family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Macon Outreach, c/o Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 149, Macon 31202.

Mr. Hunnicutt was born in Irwinton, Georgia the son of the late Lena McCrary Hunnicutt and Early Curtis Hunnicutt, Sr. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Dorothy Mays, Curtis Hunnicutt, Jr., Charles “Mack” Hunnicutt, Robert Hunnicutt and Donald Hunnicutt. Mr. Hunnicutt was retired from the Macon Telegraph and was a United States Air Force veteran. He was a member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class.

Mr. Hunnicutt is survived by his wife, Barbara F. Hunnicutt of Satellite Beach, Florida; daughter, Janet (Jose) Orozco of Satellite Beach, Florida; son, Greg Hunnicutt of Jacksonville, Florida; 4 grandchildren, David Manges, Jr. (Valerie), Megan Porter (Cole), Savannah Ussery, and Hutcheson Hunnicutt (Amanda); 5 great-grandchildren; brother, J. R. Hunnicutt (Betty Jean) of Lizella; sister, Kathy Kersey (Phillip) of Macon; several nieces and nephews.
