Gerald Mullis passed away peacefully in his home on April 4, 2024 at the age of 82. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life.
A visitation will be held on April 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM at Snow’s at Macon Memorial Park, Mercer University Dr. officiated by J.W. James and Pastor Jeremy Singletary.
He was a veteran who proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. Whether at home or on the job, Gerald was a hard worker. He retired from Piggly Wiggly after 30 years, retried from the GA Department of Corrections after 20 years, and from Snows Memorial after 16 years.
A lover of the outdoors, Gerald spent countless hours in his garden, watching the birds, and piddling around the yard. His passion for the outdoors was matched only by his love for his family, church (Gateway Fellowship Church), and his relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Jim Frank and Flossie Mullis, his brothers, Vance Mullis, J.F. Mullis, Emmett Mullis, and Leroy Mullis, and his son, Gerald Wayne Mullis. He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, Maxine Mullis, his daughter, Carol Atkins (Eddie Atkins), his grandchildren, Brandon Mullis, Brian Atkins (Heidi Atkins), Amber Givens (Brandon Givens), and Cassidy Crowley (Tyler Crowley), 12 great-grandchildren, his brother, Donald Mullis (Linda Mullis), and his sisters, Geraldine Mullis (CW) and Mary Alice Mullis-Brown, as well as by all who knew him.
Rest in peace, Gerald. Your love and laughter will live on in our hearts forever.
