Macon – Helen Ann McLure Park passed away September 4, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Thursday September 8, 2011 at 11 am in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Robert Shupe and Rev. Bob Franklin will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Wednesday September 7, 2011 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Park was the daughter of the late Samuel Edwin McLure and Mary Ollie White McLure. She was a member of New Heights Baptist Church and was also a member of Pairs and Squares Square Dancing Club and the Circle 8 Square Dancing Club. Mrs. Park is preceded in death by her son, Thomas Reed Park, Jr.; 8 brothers, Edwin, Richard, William, Luther, Frank, Horace, Fred and Ralph McLure; 2 sisters, Agnes Boswell and Vannie McLure.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Thomas R. Park, Sr.; daughter, Marcia Ann Liles (Jerry) of Macon; sisters, Betty Drew of Macon and Mary Alice Jump of Milledgeville; grandsons Thomas Reed Park III of Madison, AL and Shane (Lorie) Harper of Forsyth; sisters-in-law, Louise McLure of Macon and JaWanna McLure of Troy, AL; special friend, Jerry Oliver and caregiver and special friend, Mary Taylor.
