

James Edward Chancellor, Sr., 94, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 1, 2026. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Pastor John Beck officiating. The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 6611 Zebulon Road, Macon GA 31220.
James was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Cecil Edward and Nancy Alma Watson Chancellor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Faye Chancellor and his son, James Edward Chancellor, Jr. and sister, Ann Long. James served his country in the United States Army, 77th special forces and a paratrooper and was retired from Brown and Williamson as an Electrical Engineering Technologist. He was a former member of Shurlington Baptist Church, where he served on various committees. James was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and served as a deacon. James loved his Lord, Church and his country. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his children, Sheila Faye (John) Epps, John Olen Chancellor, Paul Stephen (Falon) Chancellor, grandchildren, Ansley Chancellor, Sydney Chancellor, Cheney James “C.J.” Chancellor, Chris Chancellor and April Cook, great grandchild, Hunter Chancellor, brother-in-law, Billy Long and several nieces and nephews.
