

James “Jimmy” Douglas Michael, 69, of Macon, Georgia passed away Friday, March 21, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. The family will have time of visitation on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 10:00-11:00 in the fellowship hall of Ingleside Baptist Church. The Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, March 27, 2025, in the Ingleside Baptist Church Chapel at 11:00. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Dr. Mark Hudgins will officiate.
Born in Starkville, Mississippi, he was the son of Ann Jackson Michael and the late R.D. Michael. From an early age, Jimmy knew that he wanted to be an architect. He followed that dream by attending Mississippi State University and later settling in Middle Georgia where he held a practice in Macon and Warner Robins, GA. While in college, he found another passion in following and leading others to Jesus. While his sons were growing up, he frequently chaperoned youth retreats and Royal Ambassadors events with Cherokee Heights Baptist Church.
Currently, Jimmy was a member of the Ingleside Baptist Church, where he taught the G.I.F.T. Sunday School Class and assisted with the preschool class. He was also a member of The Gideons International. He had recently retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections. Jimmy shared the love of Jesus until the day he was called home.
He was faithfully married for 43 years and was very passionate about his family. Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, R.D. Michael and his brother, Ronald Michael. He is survived by his wife, Julie Kitchens Michael; Children, Thomas Seth Michael and Daniel Caleb Michael (Erica); Mother, Ann Jackson Michael; Siblings, Garry Michael (Beverly) and Victor Michael (Shaye); Sister-in-Law, Rhonda Hale; Grandchildren, Lilly Ann Michael and Lainey James Michael.
