James William Meadows, 77, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2014. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 17, 2014, at 1:30 pm at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The service will be held at 3:00 pm on August 17, 2014, in the Macon Memorial Park Chapel. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Jake Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Highland Hills Baptist Church Music Department, 1370 Briarcliff Road, Macon GA 31211 or Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon GA 31210.
Born in Cochran, Georgia, he was the son of Warren Terrell and Lena Mae Purser Meadows. Mr. Meadows was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was a retired auditor with the Georgia Department of Revenue.
Survivors include his wife, Martha of Macon, Georgia; son Lionel Meadows and his wife Kathryn who have two children, Aspen and Liesl of Clarksville, Georgia; and daughter, Crystal Meadows Hughes and her two children, Taylor and Tori of Jefferson, Georgia; two sisters Sue Statham of Macon, Georgia; and Jean Tucker of Lizella, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
