Juanita “Nita” S. Wood, 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 26, 2018 surrounded by her family. A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Clint Wood and Rev. Tim Long officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon GA 31210.
Nita was born in Hancock County, GA to the late Charlie and Della Arnold Simmons. She was preceded in death by her husband J. Harold Wood, Sr. Nita was a member of First Evangelical Church and the Golden Heir Sunday School Class. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her son; Jim (Linda) Wood of Bend, OR, grandson; Clint (Kristi) Wood of Bend, OR and great grandchildren; Peyton and Jillian Wood.
