Kenneth Milton Hines Sr.

Kenneth Milton Hines, Sr., 88, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 7, 2017. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Pine Forest Baptist Church. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Norm Yukers, and Rev. Morgan Kerr officiating. The family will greet friends on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Pine Forest Baptist Church. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Pine Forest Baptist Church, 1848 Tucker Road, Macon GA 31210 and Ronald McDonald House, 1160 Forsyth St., Macon GA 31201.

Kenneth was born on November 4, 1928 in Leslie, Georgia to the late Merle Carson and Luther Cecil Hines. He served in the National Guard and worked as a technician and engineer for more than 36 years at Robins Air Force Base and then he worked for 10 years as a contractor. Kenneth volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, Rebuilding Macon, Ronald McDonald House and the Food Bank. He enjoyed woodworking and delighted many family and friends with his masterful wood furniture and cabinetry and took great pride in his projects. His handiwork can be seen at Pine Forest Baptist Church where he was a faithful member and the Ronald McDonald House. He was a Boy Scout Leader and enjoyed outdoors, camping and teaching scouts survival skills. He was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He received great joy in spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Lisa Hines Winkler (Greg), Betsy Carol Hines, Ken Hines, Jr. (Kristen) Mylinda Hines Holton (John), grandchildren, J.T. Holton, Alexander Winkler, Chelsea Holton Park (Jordan), Kevin Hines, Elizabeth and Corinne Hines and great grandchildren, Amelia and Cliff Holton. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Tristan Winkler.
