Lois Harlean Williamson McWhorter was born November 11, 1938, and passed away peacefully on December 23, 2022. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church, Rhine GA with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the church.
She was born in Rhine, GA and moved to Macon, GA in 1970. Harlean was the daughter of Woodrow and Grace Williamson, Sister of Terry Williamson. She was married to Bobby James McWhorter for 58 years. Harlean and Bobby had four children: Bobalean McWhorter Rush, Baby Bobby James McWhorter, James Andrew McWhorter and Michaela Janna Grace McWhorter. She was the Grandmother to Elizabeth Ashley Rush Pugh (Joshua) and Mother-in-Law to David Rush and Frankie Holloway.
Harlean spent many years teaching and traveled with her family during holiday breaks. She was involved in both her church in Macon- Parkway Baptist Church and in Rhine- Hopewell Baptist Church.
Harlean’s favorite hymn was “It is Well With My Soul” and her favorite time of year was Christmas.
Harlean got to rejoice this Christmas in the arms of her Savior and with her husband and two sons singing-
“Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
It is well, it is well with my soul”
