“Miss Lorine” was born in Milledgeville, Georgia, on February, 18, 1912, to William Thomas and Mary Lou Mamie Batchlor Lundy. She was predeceased by her husband, Charlie L. Wiggins and her siblings, Verneda Lundy Robinson Owens, Jessie Alonzo Lundy, Mamie Lundy Biggerstaff Adams, and Frances Lundy Collins, as well as her beloved four legged “child”, Trixie. During her long, full life she loved in Milledgeville, Macon, Lake Sinclair and St. Simons Island.
She is survived by her sons, Charles “Billy” L. Wiggins (Adrienne) of St. Simons Island, and William Wallace Wiggins of New Orleans, Louisiana, and grandchildren, Wanda W. Rogers (Reggie) of Snellville, Georgia and Charles L. Wiggins, III (Diane) of Grayson, Georgia. She is also survived by three great grandchildren, Stephanie W. Martin (Justin), Jason E. Wiggins (Christina), and Thomas G. Wiggins, and a nephew, Charles Biggerstaff (Mamie) of Macon.
For many years, “Miss Lorine” and her husband ran an IGA Grocery store in East Macon where she also loved flower arranging for her church, East Macon Methodist Church. Throughout her life she loved her family, friends, flowers, crafts and cooking. She was in her finest form when sharing her knowledge with those who shared her interests. Only a few months ago she was teaching her great granddaughter to make her famous chicken and dumplings. The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers, Adel Geneva Frazier and the Hospice of the Golden Isles.
