

Macon – Marjorie “Darlin” Long Pearce, 90, passed away June 5, 2012. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday June 8, 2012 in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Cile Mitchell will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am til 11:00 am Friday before the service.
Mrs. Pearce was born in Butler, GA to the late Grady and Jewel Long. She was the widow of Gerral Lane Pearce, Sr. She was preceded in death by a brother Emmitt Long, and step-son, Dr. Robert L. Pearce. She was working in Moultrie, GA at Swift Meat Packing where she meet her husband and moved to Macon and they opened Jerry’s Sausage. They operated this business for many years, and after closing she worked for Chip Greene and Mike Conner as a bookkeeper, retiring at age 80. Mrs. Pearce was a member of Bloomfield United Methodist Church, where she was a faithful worker at their clothes closet, and also a member and advisor of Preceptor Beta Sorority for over 20 years. Mr. and Mrs. Pearce were avid golfers and were founding members of Riverside Golf and Country Club.
Mrs. Pearce is survived by her children, Gerral L. Pearce, Jr. (Susan) of Forsyth, GA, Debbie Pearce Lynn (Jerry) of Macon; step-daughter, Marilyn Pearce Gulley (Bill) of Lake St. Louis, MO; step daughter-in-law, Ann W. Pearce of Ft. Worth TX; sister, Frances Long Donnelly of Macon; grandchildren, April Pearce Thurman, Katie Lynn Tucker (Jason), Dr. Carol P. Cass, Susan P. Peden (Bruce), Dr. Cindy P. Lipps (Larry), Lane Pearce (Paula), Kent Gulley (Kelly); great grandchildren, Pearce Lane Thurman, Kaitlyn Jane Tucker, Jason “Jake” Robert Tucker, Christopher Cass, Kathy Cass, Carol Lipps, Elizabeth Lipps, Kassy Krantz, Kyley Gulley, and Khloe Gulley.
