

Martha Claire Phillips Rabun (Margie), 91, went to be with her Lord on December 7, 2017. A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 11:00 at Ingleside Baptist Church with Dr. Timothy McCoy officiating. The family will greet friends in the Fellowship Hall at 9:45 before the service.
Born on May 22, 1926 in Miami, Florida, Mrs. Rabun was the daughter of the late Hazel and Ross Phillips. She grew up on the family farm in Bullard, Georgia and graduated from Miller High School in Macon and North Georgia College. Following graduation she taught at Jeffersonville High School where she also helped coach basketball. Mrs. Rabun was married to Ralph Edward Miller for two years until his untimely death.
Mrs. Rabun worked at First National Bank for many years and later opened Mia’s Health Food where she shared her love and knowledge with her customers. She was an avid tennis player and served as the president of the Ladies Tennis Association at River North Country Club. She also enjoyed playing golf and was an active member of the Heart of Georgia Quilt Guild.
Mrs. Rabun was a loving wife to her husband of 55 years, the late William Patrick Rabun, Jr., and they left a legacy of faith and service to their family. As longtime members and leaders at Cross Keys United Methodist Church, they poured their hearts and time into the children and youth ministries. There was always a place at their table and in their home for anyone in need. They were founding members of Emmanuel Church, and Mrs. Rabun enjoyed fellowship and prayer with her Bible study group. Mrs. Rabun also impacted many lives through her service as a counselor for Save-A-Life Ministry. She was a quiet servant who gave sacrificially of her time, resources, and talents.
Mrs. Rabun was predeceased by her brother, two sisters, and an infant son. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to those she leaves behind. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Rabun Hayes (Hugh); son, William Patrick Rabun III (Terry); son, Philip Travis Rabun (Jenny); daughter, Virginia Rabun Hayden (Mike); grandchildren, Travis Michael Hayes (Kevyn), Amanda Hayes Florance (Andrew), Caroline Rabun Wood (Tim), Rebekah Grace Rabun, Claire Rabun Storrs (Jamie), William Ross Rabun (Kensey), Mary Darden Rabun, Michael Luke Hayden (Sally), Adam Eugene Hayden, John Thomas Hayden; great granddaughters, Makenzie Marie Florance, Sadie Steele Storrs, Virginia Adair Rabun; sister, Dixie Phillips Trower (Kevin); and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dolly Estrada for her years of faithful friendship and care of Mrs. Rabun.
