

Marvis Lamar Palmer, 77, passed away on April 8, 2016. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Tuesday April 12, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Reverend Jeff Powell officiating. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends with a reception on Monday, April 11, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon, Georgia 31201.
Mr. Palmer was born in Rupert, Georgia to the late William H. Palmer and Annie Mae Barker Palmer and was preceded in death by his son, Marvis Lamar Palmer, Jr.; brothers, Robert Palmer and J.C. Thomas. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Lizella and was a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class, and served as a Trustee. Mr. Palmer Served in the United States Army and was retired as a Service Technician with Coca-Cola for 33 years. After retirement he worked for All-Stor Mini Warehouses. He was involved with the Telephone Pioneers Club, enjoyed woodworking and was a great craftsman. Mr. Palmer was a loving and devoted husband, daddy, granddaddy, papa, papaw, brother, and uncle.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ann “Mama” H. Palmer of Macon; son, Bryan “Moe” Zasimowich (Veronica) of Poquoson, VA; daughters, Deborah “Deborah Do” Ann Still of Fort Valley, Robin “Nece Bug” Denise Pace of Macon, and Kimberly “Dawn Dawn” Benson (Dustin) of Forsyth; ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Julia Cleveland of Reynolds, and Bonnie Bailey of Reynolds; 4 legged daughter, “Biscuit;” several nieces and nephews.
