I met Eileen when we were both in grammar school.  Her family lived across the street from us on Buford Place.   She became another older sister to me,  sometimes bossy and aggravating.  Later in years, she moved back to Macon and became a part of our family, sharing holidays, birthdays, and so many other life events with my family.   I'm really having a hard time believing that she is gone, but I know she's the choir director in Heaven singing with the angels of God.  I'm so proud to call her my sister.   I love and miss you, Eileen.

As the older brother of three sisters growing up, there are so many stories and memories about our times together.  Vacations to grandmother's farm in NC, vacations to the beach where our mother loved to fish, building 'tent' forts in the bedroom with chairs and blankets, throwing sand at each other in the sandbox, dressing in our finest for those mandatory Easter photos, and the list goes on and on...   It is very hard to accept that she is gone, although I take great comfort that she is in heaven with her babies and our mother and father.  As everyone has observed, she was exceptionally sweet, always had time for others' problems, never burdened anyone with her own problems and was genuinely devoted to her church and her job.  I will miss her greatly until we are reunited again in heaven.  Bill

Ms. Batchelor was one of the sweetest customers we had,  she always had a story to tell.  We will surly miss her.  

My Aunt Eileen was a bright and shining light, to all who were fortunate enough to know her. She helped our family out of very tough times back when I was a teenager. She will always hold a special place in my heart. 

Jerry and family, I am as heartbroken as all of you in the death of Eileen. We meet in the fall of 1968 and had an instant connection to my hometown of Lexington, NC. We had two fun years as roommates at Wesleyan. People always knew which side of the room was mine and which was hers.
After graduation,  I remained in Macon until 1979.   I cried and celebrated with Eileen through her life in those years. Her marriage to Jerry was one of her celebrations.  Although I left GA and moved back to NC, we remained in touch. I always enjoyed our phone calls and exchange of news. My only regret is we didn't get to see each other one last time.  I will miss you roomie.

I am so sorry to learn of Eileen's passing.  I really enjoyed working with her as a phone client before I retired.  She will be missed very much!  May GOD bless & comfort all of her friends and family.

Mrs Eileen was the sweetest person ever! 
When ever I saw her she was uplifting and happy.  So involved in her church too. She will be missed.  I will always be looking for her at internal medicine associates   Praying for her family and friends. 

Eileen was a beautiful person inside & out. We attended Ebenezer Methodist Church together many years ago. She was just a person you don’t forget. Praying for her family.

You were the most generous person any of us will ever know.  You encouraged everyone you met.  For me, you were my person…perfectly imperfect, smart, funny, fun, the brightest light in any room.  We talked about everything together and solved all of the worlds problems on our phone calls.  We asked each other for advise, weekly.  I can’t picture my future self without you, but will be strong because that’s what us Moffitt girls do.  I can rest easier knowing that you are still loved and happy where you are.  No one who knew you will ever forget you.

Eileen was one of a kind. She was loved by so many people. It’s still hard to believe that she is gone. We will keep you in our prayers Jerry. We love you.

My condolences to Eileen's husband, children and other family members.  I knew Eileen when she worked at Internal Medicine Associates with my father, Dr. Joseph Shields III.  During summer breaks when going to the office to have lunch with my Dad, she would greet us  with such a bright smile and uplifting voice. She was full of energy and kindness.   I hope time will heal and grief will be replaced with fond memories of her bright light and spirit.

Jerry.  I am so sorry to hear about Eileen...we first knew her when she came to Lynmore UMC as our choir director.   Then reconnected at IMA.......

Jerry please except my deepest condolences. Eileen will sorely  be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her!  I can truly say I have never, ever seen Eileen when she wasn’t smiling. She was one of the most gracious and generous Ladies I’ve ever meet. Eileen spent endless hours working at HUMC I can’t imagine the Church finding someone that could feel that void. Want a wonderful reunion she is having!  RIP My Friend.....

Eileen was a faithful supporter of Romans 838 Ministries of the United Methodist church and a faithful worker for Christ. She was supportive of young Preachers starting their journey in Ministry.  I celebrate that her work on earth is done and know we will be together again. Rest Eileen for I know your last breath here was your 1st breath in Heaven.
Leave a light on for me. Sing on!

Eileen was a great Christian women and friend. She will be greatly missed by her church and by all who knew her. Heritage UMC will have a big adjustment to make without having her! We can celebrate in knowing she is with our Lord and Savior. Prayers for her family.

When Rochelle was a little girl she called both of us as one word, 'DebbieEileen'. Our Lexington relatives called us this going forward. Eileen and I were so close in age we were often mistaken for twins growing up. I will miss Eileen more than words can express. I will be comforted knowing she is now rocking her babies in Heaven. Our Mother has been doing this, lovingly waiting for her. I will feel Eileen's joy at being reunited with her loved ones for eternity. Debbie

Kathy, Patty, and Rosie.
