Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Darley, 81, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Franklin Etheridge will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6 until 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Georgia Cancer Specialist of Macon, 308 Coliseum Drive, Macon 31217.
Mrs. Darley was born in Thomson, Georgia and had lived in Middle Georgia for most of her life. She was a member of the Ladies F.O.E. Auxiliary for 34 years and a member of Wheeler Heights Baptist Church. Mrs. Darley was the daughter of the late Willie Miriam Smith Wilkerson and Albert Johnson Wilkerson and was preceded in death by a son, Gary Duckworth.
Mrs. Darley is survived by her husband, Herb Darley; son, Rick (Debbie) Duckworth; sister, Margaret Inglett; step-children, Marshall Darley, Jean Wood and Kathy Whitten; 9 step-grandchildren; 8 step-great-grandchildren; 2 grandchildren, Sven & Maja Duckworth; numerous nieces and nephews.
