Mary D. Shepard, 96, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 16, 2022. A Celebration of her life will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Jones officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Mary was born in Lamar County, Georgia to the late Pate and Carlee Williams Dorough. She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Shepard, Sr. Mary was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church and was a hairdresser for many years. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Vivian K. Hudson, son, James M. (Kathy) Shepard, grandchildren, April (Michael) Hollingsworth, Amber (Tony) Peacock, Leila Shepard, Michelle (Jay) Kirsch, great grandchildren, Macy (Shaune) Hankins, Mikala (Josh) Poss, Logan Hollingsworth, Seelie Peacock, Asher Peacock, and great great grandson, Layton Poss.
