Mattie Jo Perkins Ball, 84, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery beginning at 2:00 PM with Danny Ball officiating.
Jo was born in Macon, Georgia on September 23, 1940. She was a firm believer of the Baptist faith and preached for a time with her late husband, Larry Ball, at the Church of God on Napier Avenue. Jo enjoyed traveling, even more so if she could find a new flea market to shop at. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and playing board games, her favorite of which was Parcheesi.
Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Gene Ball Sr.; daughter, Stephanie Arnold; sons, Billy Ball, Mike Ball, and Joe Ball and brother, Johny Perkins.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Eleanor Ball-Boardman (Darrell); grandchildren, Leslie McKinney, Aaron Arnold, Noah Arnold; brother, Henry Perkins; significant other, James Upshaw and her dog, Star, and extended family.
