Melba Jean Holmes, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 24, 2022. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park with Pastors Tim Long and Taylor Carter officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon GA 31210.
Melba Jean was born in Fort Benning, Georgia to the late Robert and Essie Mae McCarty Hamblen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Frank Holmes. Melba Jean retired from Macon Federal as a Head Teller. She was a member of First Evangelical Church and former member of Forest Hills Methodist Church. She was a devoted and loving mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, her caregivers, Teresa (Mike) Bell and her granddaughter, Courtney Bell (Michael) Lose.
