Melissa Garrett Beattie, 32, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2014. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 3:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Melissa was born in Macon, Georgia on January 20, 1982. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Marvin Ben Odom and Joseph Gates. Melissa was a graduate of Central Fellowship. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and niece.
She is survived by her loving husband, Brent Beattie of Bonaire, her loving children, Jordan and Sydni Beattie of Bonaire, mother and father; Pam and Tracy Gates of Macon, father; Ricky Garrett, maternal grandmother; Marie Odom, and paternal grandmother; Carolyn C. Gates, brother; Matt (Amy) Garrett, brother; Greg (Candace) Gates, sister; Ashley Gates, half-brother; Chad (Christy) Whited, half-sister; Rikki Jade (Lafayette) Riner and mother-in-law; Patsy H. (John) Beattie of Bonaire, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
