

Nancey Elaine Helton, lifelong resident of Macon, Georgia, passed away this Friday, July 7, 2023. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Russ Bozeman officiating.
Born on April 24, 1951 to the late Melvin Shed and Ellie Mae Fields, Nancey was the youngest of four siblings. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Wayne Helton; her sister, Nettie Mae Smith; and her brother, James Melvin Shed. A 1969 graduate of Margaret McEvoy High School, Nancey spent her career working as an insurance agent serving the Middle Georgia area for over 30 years. In her free time, Nancey enjoyed bowling with her husband and friends throughout the Southeast as a part of the Georgia Women’s Bowling Association & Gold Cup Bowling’s tournament leagues.
Loved and cherished by all who knew her, Nancey is survived by her daughter, Tara Elaine Deedrick (Gregg) of Macon, her son, John Coley Ussery (Jamie) of Savannah; her stepson, Richard Helton (Melanie) of Georgetown, Kentucky; twelve grandchildren; her sister, Carolyn Starley (Sonny) of Warner Robins, niece, Tracey Barbee of Warner Robins, along with several other nieces and nephews.
A devoted mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, Nancey will be so dearly missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.
