

Nora Lee Ennis, 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 13, 2017. A Celebration of her life will be held on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Robbie Jones officiating. The family will greet friends on Sunday, January 15, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family may be contacted at the residence of Connie Adkins. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 6611 Zebulon Road, Macon GA 31210.
Mrs. Ennis was born in Oak Park, GA to the late Ben H. and Daisy Findley Boatright. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Ennis and her grandson, Jake Calhoun. Mrs. Ennis was a graduate of Oak Park Grammar and High School, and graduated Valedictorian of her class at age 16. She was a graduate of Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, Georgia at age 19 and began her teaching career in Sparta, Georgia. She retired from the Bibb County School system after thirty years of teaching. She taught Sunday School for many years at Bloomfield United Methodist Church and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Mrs. Ennis was past president of the Middle Georgia Gem and Mineral Society. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.
She is survived by her children; Connie Ennis (Jim Elmo) Adkins of Macon, Patsy Ennis Strese of Macon, George Wayne Ennis of Macon, Mark (Jessi) Ennis of Macon, grandchildren; Jennifer, Jamie and Kyle Adkins, Eric (Lauren) Strese, Joshua, Jeremiah, Matthew and Luke Ennis, great grandchildren; Sophie and Jack Strese, brother; Benjamin Boatright and sister; Martha (Ronnie) Murphy and several nieces and nephews.
