Ollie Long Cummings, 96, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 5, 2022. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Robbie Kerr officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ProMedica Hospice, 5400 Riverside Drive, Suite 200, Macon GA 31210.
Ollie was born in Dublin, Georgia to the late Albert and Mintie Ellen Bush Long. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Charles C. Cummings, daughter, Shelia Tucker, sister, Georgia Mae Tyson, brothers, Alfred Long, Robert Long and JD Long. Ollie was a former member of Woodland Christian Church and a member of Clinton United Methodist Church. She was retired from Macon Vending Company as a secretary after many years of service and was a member of the NARFEE where she served as secretary for several years. Ollie was known for baking delicious cakes, biscuits and enjoyed working in the yard with her flowers. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister and aunt.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the care and love given to Ollie over the past several years, caregiver, Dorothy Aaron, Best Care of Georgia Loving Heart Companion Services and ProMedica formerly Heartland Hospice.
She is survived by her sisters, Saralyn Chitwood, Jacqueline Loyd, Jeanette Almand, brother-in-law, Alfred (Matt) Cummings and several nieces and nephews.
