Richard Marvin Malone Sr., 95, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, surrounded by his family. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Bill Sheffield officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Richard was born in Macon, Georgia to the late C.R. and Nattie Mae Smith Malone. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Williams Malone, sons-in-law, Terry Kelly and Dale Collett, siblings, Louise Sadler, Comer Reynolds “Ray” Malone, Dorothy Fussell and Bill Malone. Richard served his country in the United States Navy and was retired from Robins Air Force Base Electronics Division. He was the owner and operator of Malone’s Burglar Bars for many years. Richard was a fabricator and inventor of several items, and he loved working in his shop. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is survived by children, Gail Collett of Macon, Dickie (Joy) Malone of Macon, Melody Kelly of Gray, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
