Richard "Rick" G. Jones Jr.

Richard “Rick” Gilbert Jones, Jr., 60, passed away on Wednesday, July 09, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry St., Macon GA 31201 or the Saint Joseph’s Mercy Foundation, Building 2, Suite LL80, 1100 Johnson Ferry Road, NE, Atlanta GA 30342.

Rick was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Richard G. and Phyllis L. Jones, Sr. He was a graduate of Mercer University and worked most of his career as a Human Resource/ Safety Manager. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

He is survived by his wife; Lynne Jones of Gray, children; Amber (Bryan) Simpson of Gray, Richard “Richie” Gilbert (Angie) Jones, III of Nashville, TN, and Abbie (Lee) Whitaker of Beaufort, SC, four grandchildren; Emmaline and Owen Simpson of Gray, Richard “Gil” Jones, IV of Nashville, TN and Penelope Whitaker of Beaufort, SC, sister; Shirley Adler and nephews; Scott Kimball and Todd (Tricie) Kimball.
