Robert L. Blount, 75, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2010. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held on Monday, July 19, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with Dr. Billy Sharpston officiating. The family will greet friends on Sunday, July 18, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Mr. Blount was born in Berrien, County to the late Robert J. and Edith Godwin Blount. He served in the United States Army and was retired from Purina Mills after thirty three years of service. Mr. Blount was a part time employee of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. He was a member of White Oaks Freewill Baptist Church and was involved in all aspects of the church.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty three years, Melinda B. Blount of Macon, two sons, Robert “Bobby” W. Blount of Macon, and James L. Blount of Van Nuys, CA and brother, Walter Isaac (Jeanette) Blount of Pinehurst, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
