Macon – Ronald L. “Ronnie” Carter, 68, went to be with the Lord on January 18, 2011. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday January 21, 2011 in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Benny Turner will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Carter was born in Bibb County to the late Brinson Carter and Jessie Ash Carter. He was retired from Riverwood International as the power house supervisor. He is preceded in death by his brother Larry Carter and sister Patsy Ashburn. Mr. Carter was a graduate of Lanier High School and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years Frances Carr Carter; two sons, Andy (Tammy) Carter of Lizella and Timothy Johnson of New York; brothers, J.B. Carter of Florida, Hubert Carter of LA, Terry Carter of Cochran; sisters, Shirley Shurley of Macon, Barbara Jean Bembry of TX, Brenda Turner of Clayton, GA, and Shelia Durham of SC; grandsons, Timothy, Brandon and Justin Johnson and Brinson Carter; granddaughters, Chelsea, Amber and Emily Johnson; several nieces and nephews also survive.
