

He was a devoted husband to his loving wife of 59 years, Hazel Smith Cox, and was a cherished father to his three children: Wanda Aldinger (Dean), Jason Cox (Rachael), and Donna Hagin (Eric). He took immense pride in his family and was a beloved grandfather to eight precious grandchildren: Lily, Emily, Madison, Grant, Megan, Hannah, Kierstin, and Ray.
He was a retired machinist with Greene Machine Shop and Manufacturing, now Collins Manufacturing. After retirement, he was a car delivery driver for Lowe Toyota and other local dealerships. He was a long-time member of the Hartley Bridge Road Church of Christ, where he served faithfully as a Deacon. He loved the Lord, his family, and was a dear friend to many. He never met a stranger.
Roy was known for his fun-loving personality. He was an avid knife collector, yo-yo player, and a beloved softball coach at the Western Little League for 18 years, passions that brought him joy throughout his life. He was a true fan of the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs, and he loved sharing his enthusiasm for his teams. He loved to travel and enjoyed attending all the activities in which his grandchildren participated. Roy had a great sense of humor and loved making jokes and playing pranks, always bringing laughter and light to those around him.
His warmth, kindness, and playful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Roy’s legacy of love, laughter, faith, and family will live on in his loved ones.
Services will be held Sunday, September 7th, at 2:00 pm at Snows at Macon Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Pastor Steve Waller will officiate.
