Roy Wayne Mitchell, 64, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018. A Celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Russell Hardesty and Rev. Glenn McCall officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to donor’s favorite charity.
Roy was born on August 14, 1953 in Macon, GA to the late William Leonard Mitchell, Sr. and Mary Ragan Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Kenneth Mitchell, Glenda Sue Mitchell, Linda Ann Mitchell and Robert E. Mitchell. He was a member of First Baptist Church of High Falls where he served on several committees. Roy was employed with Speir and Associates Electrical Contractors for many years.
He is survived by his life partner of 42 years, Joey L. Speir of Forsyth, brothers; Ricky R. (Sharon) Speir, Sr. , Michael (Kelly) Speir, Harold (Mona) Speir, William L. (Faye) Mitchell, Jr., Larry Mitchell, Perry Michael Mitchell, Sr., sisters; Denise Speir, Susan (James) Davis, Trudy Gordon and several nieces and nephews.
