Ruth Harrington Wingers, 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, December 20, 2015. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 12noon in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Dr. John Beck officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends Tuesday night from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wingers was born in Bibb County, Georgia to the late William Thomas Harrington and Cora Mae Freeman Harrington and was preceded in death by her husband, Henry “Hank” Wingers; brother, Lawrence Harold Braswell and sister, Martha Vinson. She was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church and the Crusader Sunday School Class. Mrs. Wingers graduated from A.L. Miller High School. She retired from Keebler Company in 1979 and from their business, Wingers Construction Company, on August 31, 2007. Mrs. Wingers founded the Weeds and Seeds Garden Club of Lizella in 1979.
Survivors include her brother-in-law, Ronnie (Charlotte) Wingers, and numerous nieces and nephews.
