
Thurman Gilbert “Junie” Woodfin, Jr. 76, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2011 surrounded by his family. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The Rev. Phil Anderson and Rev. Eddie Mathews will be officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 24, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation, 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22331.
Mr. Woodfin was born in Matoaca, Virginia to the late Thurman Gilbert and Jessie Mae Johnson Woodfin. He was preceded in death by his brother, Horace E. Woodfin, his sisters, Iris Frisinger and Lorena Pritchett. He was retired after forty-one years service from Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company as a supervisor. Mr. Woodfin was an active member of Northway Church and the Harris-Vaughn Sunday School Class. He was a very devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.
He is survived by his wife of fifty six years, Faye Taylor Woodfin of Macon, two daughters, Rhonda (John) Bottoms of Ford, VA, Traci Hubbard of Chester, VA, son, Scott (Joy) Woodfin of Knoxville, GA, five grandchildren, Jacob Bottoms of Ford, VA, Jeremy Bottoms (fiancé Stephanie) of Hopewell, VA, Dustin White of Knoxville, GA, Megan (Dave) Johnston of Chester, VA, Scottie Woodfin, of Knoxville, GA, great granddaughter, Zoie Johnston of Chester, VA, brother, Charles O. (Elizabeth) Woodfin of Colonial Heights, VA, and several nieces and nephews.
