Tommie D. Reed, 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 13, 2018. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Forrester, Rev. Stephen N. Johnson and Dr. Mark Hudgins officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:30 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Heights Baptist Church, 158 Lamar Road, Macon GA 31220.
Mrs. Reed was born in Scott, Georgia to the late John R. and Bertha Bracewell Gardner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard V. Reed and ten siblings. She was retired from Robins Air Force Base. Tommie was a member of New Heights Baptist Church, Sunday School and the WMU. She was a devoted Christian and loved her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Richard “Rick” Reed (Kathy) of Lizella, grandchildren, Kristen (Anthony) Whitworth of Macon and Kyla Reed (fiancé’ James Nunnally) of Decatur, great granddaughter, Avonlea Whitworth and several nieces and nephews.
