Uley Taylor Morgan

Uley T. Morgan, 88, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, November 19, 2010. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held on Monday, November 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Forest Hills United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with full Military Honors. The Rev. Jimmy Towson, Rev. Frank Harris and Rev. Teresa Edwards will officiate. The family will meet friends on Sunday, November 21, 2010 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3969 Mercer University Drive, Macon GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Forest Hills United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 1217 Forest Hill Road, Macon GA 31210 or The Methodist Home for Children and Youth, 304 Pierce Ave., Macon GA 31204.

Mr. Morgan was born on April 30, 1922 to the late Uley and Sarah Forbes Morgan of Vienna, Georgia. He was preceded in death by two sons, James Taylor Morgan and Donald Joseph Morgan and two brothers, Frank Morgan and Tom Morgan. He served in the United States Navy during World War II as a naval aviator, retiring as a Commander. Mr. Morgan was a charter member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church, the Grace Bible Sunday School Class and served on numerous committees at the church. He was retired from The Cropper Company serving as president. He served on the Board of Directors with the Methodist Home for Children and Youth, was a member of the Macon Jaycees and Civitan Club. He was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother.

Uley is survived by his loving and faithful wife of sixty six years, Pauline Parham Morgan of Macon, his son, Bob Morgan of Macon, daughter Brenda M. (Ron) Gay of Macon, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, brothers, Ben (Marcelene) Morgan of Macon, Arthur (Dianne) Morgan of Cumming, sister, Laura Carolyn (James) Woodward of Vienna and numerous nieces and nephews.
