William “Bill” Marshall, 94, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022. A Celebration of His Life will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Hills United Methodist Church. Burial will be held immediately following the service at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Baxter Hurley and Dr. Laudis H. “Rick” Lanford officiating. The family will greet friends on Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Masonic Home for Children, 1417 Nottingham Drive, Macon GA 31211 or Forest Hills United Methodist Church, Back Pack Ministry, 1217 Forest Hill Road, Macon GA 31204.
Bill was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Onan Emanuel and Clara Eubanks Marshall. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jo Marshall; great grandson, Walker Hodges; and brother, Lon Marshall. Bill served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and was retired as the Property Manager with Rich’s Department Stores after thirty-three years of service. He was a member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church, Grace Sunday School Class and the Men’s Prayer Breakfast. Bill was a member of the Mason’s for sixty-five years, Rutland Lodge 298, William Davis Daylight Lodge #753 and was also instrumental in the organizing of the Masonic Memorial Association. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Stokes Marshall of Macon; children, Billie Jo Marshall, Jeff (Christie) Copeland, Kimberly (Stuart) Copeland Stokes; grandchildren, Matthew (Kristen) Stokes, Bethany Stokes (Jonathan) Hodges, Zachary Stokes, Samuel Copeland, Christopher Copeland, Annie Copeland; great grandchildren, Maggie Stokes, Charlotte Stokes, Isla Hodges and Cora Hodges; and sister, Dorothy Marshall Sutton.
