William Vaughn Blair, 93, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Ed Chambless officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mikado Baptist Church, 6751 Houston Road, Macon GA 31216.
Vaughn was born in Taylor County, Georgia to the late Claude Vernon and Mary Essie Cromer Blair and was preceded in death by his five brothers. He served his country in the United States Army and the Merchant Marines. He was the founder and former owner of Blair Awning and Siding Company. Vaughn was also the owner of Blair Farms in Byron, Georgia for fifty-four years. He was a member of Mabel White Baptist Church and served as an Usher. Vaughn loved music and collecting musical instruments, antiques, old cars and trucks. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-seven years, Connie Briggs Blair of Byron, daughter, Lynn Blair of Byron, sister, Neva Blair Knight Moreno of Jones County, several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.
