

William Wallace Long, 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, December 29, 2014. Funeral services will be Friday, January 2, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glen Haven Cemetery. The family will greet friends Thursday, January 1, 2015 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Evangelical Church 3601 Fulton Mill Rd., Macon, GA 31206 or the Methodist Children’s Home 304 Pierce Ave., Macon, GA 31204.
Mr. Long was born in Knoxville, Georgia to the late Jody and Gladys Pender Long and was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Smith Long; daughter, Gina Carole Bond; two sisters, Joan Bell, and Shirley Martin; and a brother, Clifton Long. He was an engineer with Norfolk Southern Railroad and served in the United States Marine Corp. Mr. Long was a member of First Evangelical Church, Believing Crusaders Sunday School Class, and Golden Heirs Ministry. He was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.
Survivors include his children, Kenneth David Long (Mary) of Gray, Tim Long (Leigh Ann) of Macon, Brenda Long Swartz (Sherman) of Highland Village, TX; and Trina Sidlauskas (Steven) of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Dusty Long, Katie Carr, Casey Brown, Michelle Leonard, Jake Parent-Lew, Dallas Long, Lauren Johnson, Michael Adams, David Adams, Christy Adams, Amanda Janes, Steven Davidson, Logan Davidson, Richard Swartz, Ava Swartz, Jessica Holder, and Brittany Clark; 19 great grandchildren; and siblings, Corine Warren, Billy Long, Loveen Pritchett, and Gwen Collins.
