A Celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Butler, GA. Burial will be held in Butler City Cemetery with Rev. Mike Brandenburg and Rev. Don Balltzglier officiating. The family will greet friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Gary was born in Columbus, GA to the late William Thomas and Mary Welch Reid. He was a graduate of Talbot High School “Class of 1967” and served his country in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. Gary was a member of the First Baptist Church in Butler. Gary was retired as a Vice President of Citizens State Bank. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his wife of forty five years, Debbie Thomas Reid of Butler, sons; Matthew Reid of Augusta, GA, Christopher Reid of Houston, TX and sisters; Gloria (Johnny) Bazemore of Butler, GA Glenda Cobb of Butler, GA sister-in-law; Ann Landis of Pittsburgh, PA, brother-in-law; George Thomas of Manchester, GA and several nieces and nephews.
