

Alex was born in Boston, the youngest son of Ruth B. and Ross Parker.
In 1928 the family moved to Munich, Germany to enrich their son’s education. They returned to Boston in 1934 with the threat of WWII. Alex attended Tabor Academy in Marion and later went on to receive a degree in civil engineering from Northeastern University.
Before the U.S. entered WWII, Alex volunteered with the American Field Service and drove an ambulance in North Africa. After returning home to Marblehead he settled into the Engineering profession with Charles A. Maguire in Boston and later in Waltham where he worked until he retired. For many years he and his oldest brother Dick owned and operated Parker Boat Yard on Redstone Lane.
He leaves three sons, Ross Parker and wife Laura of Camden, ME, and their children, Benjamin and Alexandra; Tony Parker and his wife Margie of Portsmouth, NH, and their children, Kristin, Jonathan and Samuel; and Timothy Parker and his wife Pamela of Amherst, NH, and their children, Timothy and Talia. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Jean McBeath Parker, his two brothers, Richard Parker of S. Freeport, ME, and Hugh Parker of London England.
